While in New York we were able to spend a couple days exploring the natural wonders of the state. Although we had planned to go to the city, we opted to go see nature instead.
Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of New York.
The area is definitely a mecca for vacationers. The town is very touristy with souvenir shops everywhere intermixed with a few feeding joints. The beach area we were able to see was dirty. The clean beach area we had to pay for…so we opted out.
Between the amount of people, getting lost trying to find a simple grocery store and the harassment from the campground, we left New York not soon enough!
