We are taking our time leaving Oregon. As we adjust to The Everest, we want to be close to home if we need to make a pit stop for repair. So far, the only thing that is not working is the DVD and I think we’ll get that fixed in Reno.
We woke up this morning and started our travel day. We are out of practice. What used to take 45 minutes took us 3 hours! Granted, we have a new vehicle with more steps to pack…but still, 3 hours. We have challenged ourselves to improve that.
We drove along the Oregon Coast to Humbug State Park. This has been one of our favorite spots since we discovered it in 2010. For $24/night we get a flat, paved pull-through site with water and 50-amp service. They have upgraded the dumping stations here, so we won’t be forced to service the tanks in Port Orford. Luckily, the showers are some of the nicest…so tonight it will be a nice warm shower!
We made a fire! Yay! After two years in KOAs without fire pits, I’m in heaven. It’s the one thing I love about traveling on the road.
Our new rig features an outdoor kitchen. I thought it an absolute waste of space. However, I’m quickly finding that it means we can have fish. Outside. No smell inside. I’m beginning to like this.
So many things to share, see and do this summer. We cannot wait to share them with you!
See you on the road!
