What a week this has been! I know I say that a lot, but it’s true!
Monday we started learning about Abraham to Joseph. We watched Prince of Egypt and then read the coordinating Bible stories. We then headed to Village Home for Missy’s Rehearsal. She was excited because it was the last day of auditions. November 19th and 20th she will be performing in a live production of Bugsy Malone.
we attended a local co-op of tweens. The activity was a fun scavenger hunt. The kids enjoyed themselves and made some great connections.
Wednesday we studied Shakespeare, science, poetry and Ziggurats. Funny combination. We spent the week trying “not-schooling” as my daughter calls it. I don’t think we liked it. Next week, we’ll go back to a more structured but relaxed schedule. Doing whatever they want, didn’t work, for any of us.
Thursday is our Village Home & Field Trip day. We volunteered with OFOSA on Thursday morning. It was our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with the puppies and kittens. It was hard for me to not leave home with at least 1 or 2 baby kittens! (They are sooo cute!)
Friday we decided to just take a day off. The Boy had to pack for his weekend Unplugged Teen Retreat. I spent the morning with knots. We had to get some last minute things. This allowed us a spontaneous trip to the office to see daddy. Surprise! We had lunch with Auntie and the wee little cousin that will be here in January! After we dropped off the Boy, we headed to Missy’s horse lessons. Today she learned pole trotting. It was hot, but she enjoyed every minute of the lesson. Me, I’m still trying to get used to all the flies buzzing around in the barn!
Next week, it will be better.
